In November, New Hampshire Community Action Programs (CAPs) executives from around the state discussed the programs around the state, their impact on New Hampshire residents, and how CAPs can be leveraged to help your community. CAPs have aided Granite Staters for decades, offering services in every area from housing to workforce development to childcare.

About the Speakers
Jeanne Agri – CEO, Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc.
Jeanne has over 20 years of advocacy and management experience within the nonprofit sector, serving in various direct service and management positions. She started her Community Action career as a Head Start teacher. Jeanne currently serves as the CEO of Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. (CAPBMI), where she is responsible for all aspects of the organization's strategy, leadership, governance, and operations of over 70 programs and services. In addition, Jeanne leads the CAPBMI's executive team in providing a high standard of excellence while empowering low-income families and individuals to become fully self-sufficient. Jeanne earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Notre Dame College and her Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
Betsey Andrews Parker – CEO, Community Action Partnership of Strafford County and Chair of the New England Community Action Partnership
Betsey, MPH, has been the CEO of the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County since 2010. She oversees the administration of federal, state, and local programs that reach over 19,000 clients each year to help meet basic needs for housing, nutrition, childcare, education, and emergency assistance. Prior to her tenure at CAPSC, she was the Public Health Practice Lead at URS Corporation where she provided program, planning, and training to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She is currently the Chair of the New England Community Action Partnership, board member for CAPLAW (national membership organization), Chair of the Greater Rochester Community Health Foundation, Past President of the Rotary Club of Dover, and a three-term elected official and Vice Chair of the Dover School Board. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and Boston University. Dennis Martino – Board President, Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. Dennis is the former Director of the NH Bureau of Education and Training. He has taught leadership courses at the graduate level at several colleges. Prior to his current academic work, he had twenty-one years of experience in Labor Relations as a union advocate and contract negotiator. Dennis has acted as a workplace mediator with both small and large agencies. His current work includes:

• Adjunct Faculty – Granite State College
• Contributor to the Public Administration Times

Michael Tabory – Chief Operating Officer, Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc.
Michael joined the Community Action Partnership of New Hampshire in 2006, serving in multiple leadership roles including Workforce Development program compliance and Human Resources, and now as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Director for the Community Action Program for Belknap & Merrimack Counties (CAPBM) where he works closely with the CEO in all aspects of the agency’s strategy, leadership, governance, and operations of over 70 programs and services. He also helps drive the organization’s modernization utilizing his prior experience in technology implementation, project management, and website and marketing services. Michael is proud to support everyone in the agency in their efforts to advocate for, and provide services to, the most vulnerable members of our communities to help them find the opportunities to raise themselves, their families, and their communities out of poverty. Michael studied at the University of Lancaster in England and earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.
