Why Earn a Master of Public Administration from the Carsey School of Public Policy?

Advance Your Career: Our online Master of Public Administration degree is designed for new graduates and working professionals who want to pursue the preferred credential for the public and nonprofit sectors. As an MPA student, you'll learn theoretical concepts and engage in experiential learning in all aspects of nonprofit and government-related management, including leadership, program evaluation, budgets, planning, personnel, collective bargaining, and policy analysis.

Executive MPA Option: The Executive MPA welcomes midcareer professionals with at least 5 years of relevant experience seeking opportunities to hone their leadership skills and advance their careers without leaving their current situation. Those who meet this criteria can reduce their credit load by 6 credits, or 2 elective courses, earning their degree in just 12 months while saving money on tuition.

The 12- to 16-month Public Administration program is offered 100% online.

What Makes the Public Administration Program Unique?

Applying What You Learn

In the online Master of Public Administration program, you'll complete a capstone project, allowing you to directly apply what you learn in the classroom while building connections in the field.

Past MPA students have completed capstone projects with nonprofits; higher education institutions; and a variety of municipal, state, national and international agencies, among them the City of Concord, the NH Alliance for Healthy Aging, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Embassy of El Salvador.
