Shannon Monnat, PhD, is a past Carsey fellow, professor of sociology, the Lerner Chair for Public Health Promotion, and the director of the Center for Policy Research at Syracuse University. Her research focuses on demographic and geographic trends and differences in health and mortality, with a specific interest in rural health and health disparities. Shannon holds a PhD in Sociology from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
