Luke Rogers
Luke Rogers is a Fellow with the Carsey School of Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire. As a demographer, Dr. Rogers examines U.S. population redistribution trends including the impact of fertility, mortality and migration on demographic change. He has also conducted research on rural and environmental demography. He has extensive experience integrating demographic data from the National Center for Health Statistics and the United States Census Bureau into research on contemporary and historical models of population redistribution in rural and urban areas. He was a senior research assistant at the Carsey School of Public Policy. Dr. Rogers is currently a demographer in the Population Division at the United States Census Bureau.
Dr. Rogers holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Radford University, a master's degree in sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a doctorate degree in sociology from the University of New Hampshire. His doctoral dissertation investigated patterns of demographic change and proximity to toxic release sites in rural and urban areas of the Great Lakes region using geospatial statistical methods.
