Natallia’s research interests include socio-ecological systems, climate change adaptation and resilience, systems thinking, ecosystem-based management, stakeholder engagement, geospatial sciences (i.e. participatory GIS), international and transboundary environmental affairs, planning for sustainable communities, bridging the gap between science and decision-making, qualitative research methods and tools, corporate social and environmental responsibility, social innovation, and science communication.

Natallia is currently working with team members from various New England institutions on an interdisciplinary project focused on the future of dams in New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island. Results and outcomes from this applied research will help New England communities make better decisions about dam management. Results of this project will also be useful for other communities dealing with dam related issues and decisions across the U.S. and internationally.
