Jo Field is a Research and Engagement Fellow focused on climate policy, community engagement, and environmental justice. Originally from Bristol, England, she moved to New Hampshire to pursue a PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies at UNH. She holds a Master's in Science Communication from Cardiff University and a Bachelor's in Zoology from the University of Bristol.

Jo’s research examines climate action planning across state, regional, and municipal levels. She explores how government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and communities collaborate to advance equitable climate solutions, with a particular focus on stakeholder engagement.

At New Hampshire Listens, Jo supports the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services in developing a statewide Comprehensive Climate Action Plan through stakeholder engagement activities, information-gathering, and resource-sharing. In 2025, she received a Sustainability Award in Campus Culture, Operations, and Engagement from the UNH Sustainability Institute in recognition of her contributions to this work. Jo also brings data visualization and GIS mapping skills to a range of NH Listens projects.

Previously, Jo worked with the Union of Concerned Scientists through the UNH Sustainability Fellowship program, assessing climate action plans and policy implementation across the New England states. She is also a member and academic contributor to the New England Municipal Sustainability Network, a regional network of municipal staff and sustainability professionals working to elevate municipal sustainability.
