Lu Butterfield-Ferrell is a Program Manager with New Hampshire Listens at the Carsey School of Public Policy. Lu holds a Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Graphic Design from Champlain College and a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont. Lu also holds a certification in Equity Informed Mediation Practices.
Working in higher education for the last 10+ years, Lu has been committed to building community, creating inclusive and equitable spaces, and bringing systemic change to various University settings. In their previous position as the Associate Director for the Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom their role was to serve as a student support specialist and advocate for historically marginalized/excluded student populations. In this role Lu also held responsibilities like coordinating the UNH Safe Zones Program, an intersectional dialogue series, heritage and awareness month programming, and managed a physical center where students found a sense of community and belonging. Lu served on various working groups and commissions which included but was not limited to the University Commission on Community, Equity, and Diversity, the Transgender Policy and Climate Committee, the Bias Assessment and Response Team, the Campus Pride Index working group, and the Supportive Recovery Campus Community working group.
Lu can be found enjoying the outdoors or doing various types of art in their free time. Lu lives with their partner and their two cats in Rochester, NH. Lu's gender pronouns: They/Them/Their(s)
