Laurie Smith is the Student Services Specialist at the Center for Impact Finance at the University of New Hampshire’s Carsey School of Public Policy. In this role she works to develop, implement, and assist professionals enrolled in the virtual courses and trainings offered through the Center for Impact Finance.
Before joining the Center, Laurie taught at Capital University in Ohio for 10 years, designing and teaching courses for both the Health & Sport Sciences and the Education departments, and was also a small business owner in New Hampshire. Laurie has over 20 years of experience leading health programs in public schools, colleges, and worksites and working on community health projects for the Columbus Department of Public Health.
Laurie is passionate about improving community health, teaching, and supporting students, and is now applying her background in health education and exercise science to work in the Community Development, Health Policy, and Clean Energy fields at UNH.
Laurie has a master’s degree in health education from Boston University and earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of New Hampshire. She and her family live in Exeter, New Hampshire.
