Nena F. Stracuzzi is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of New Hampshire and a Carsey Faculty Fellow. She teaches courses comprising such topics as family, sexual behavior, gender, and medical sociology. She has been involved since 2008 in the Rural Youth Study, which has tracked the social development of two rural youth cohorts transitioning from middle and high school to adulthood. Her current research uses this data set to examine the influence of educational aspirations and school connectedness on drug use, delinquency, and academic achievement. Her recent publications appear in Rural Sociology, Journal of Adolescence, and Journal of Family Violence.
