Gabrielle MacIver is a Carsey Fellow for New Hampshire Listens. She is currently completing her Master’s in Education through the University of New Hampshire’s accelerated master’s program to pursue a career as a public high school social studies teacher. She expects to graduate in May 2018. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of New Hampshire. Gabrielle has worked with New Hampshire Listens in several capacities since 2014. Gabrielle has worked in the New Hampshire Listens office as support staff and trained as a New Hampshire Listens facilitator where she has led discussions on education, community policing, and a range of other topics. In the office she worked with both quantitative and qualitative data entry, as well as analyzing qualitative data on various projects.
Her areas of interest include increasing means of authentic family and community engagement within schools, particularly at the secondary level. She is also interested in education policy as it affects school governance, and including genuine student voice in decision making processes in public schools. Gabrielle will be completing her student teaching internship at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton New Hampshire during the 2017-18 academic year.
