International Student Requirements

International applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure visa and other necessary paperwork are received in a timely manner. International applicants to this master’s program are required to file a UNH Graduate School pre-application form before beginning the application process.

Once a student has been pre-approved by the UNH Graduate School, they can begin the application. When all materials have been received and the student is admitted into the program, she/he will be contacted by the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) at the University of New Hampshire to submit documents in order to request a SEVIS I 20 document. This process requires financial documents such as bank statements and letters of financial support (including scholarship offer letters). These documents can be uploaded to a secure site for which a link and instructions will be sent in an email. Upon receiving these documents, UNH will issue students an I-20. The I-20, along with a receipt for payment of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) fees, will be required when they appear for the visa interview. Information on paying the SEVIS fees will be emailed to the student.

Note - All international students are required by the University of New Hampshire to purchase the UNH Health Plan (SHBP)  each year they are on campus. This is mandatory and cannot be waived.
