Funding Opportunities by Partners

AmeriCorps Alumni are eligible to receive up to one full-time Segal AmeriCorps Education Award match to pursue a public service graduate degree at the Carsey School of Public Policy. When combined with the AmeriCorps award, this can represent up to a 50% reduction in total tuition costs. In addition to the education award, the $65 application fee is waived for AmeriCorps applicants. The amount of the AmeriCorps Education Award and Carsey’s dollar-for-dollar match amount depends on the total hours of service.

City of Concord employees may be eligible for up to $5,000 in total education awards to pursue a public service graduate degree at the Carsey School of Public Policy.

City Year Corps Members and Staff may be eligible for up to a $7,000 education award representing over 25% of the total tuition costs. In addition to the education award, the $65 application fee is waived for City Year applicants. The precise amount of the scholarship awarded is based upon years of service.

LISC logo

Employees of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) may be eligible for up to $5,000 in total education awards from the Carsey School of Public Policy to pursue our Master in Community Development degree. Eligible employees may also qualify for up to $3,500 in tuition reimbursement per calendar year from LISC when enrolled in the Master in Community Development program at the Carsey School of Public Policy.

Logo for NDC

The Carsey/NDC Graduate Credit Award Program expands the educational and credentialing opportunities for those that serve the economic and housing development fields across the country. Students who have earned a National Development Council (NDC) Professional Certification may be eligible to receive up to 6 graduate-level credits (2 courses) when enrolled in the Master in Community Development program at the Carsey School of Public Policy.

Students accepted or enrolled in the Master in Community Development program are also eligible to receive a reduced rate on NDC courses when pursuing a Professional Certification.

NeighborWorks Logo

The Carsey/NeighborWorks Alliance Program expands the educational and credentialing opportunities for those that serve the affordable housing and community development fields across the country by offering two award programs:

  • Carsey/NeighborWorks Education Award: Employees and board members of NeighborWorks and NeighborWorks member organizations may be eligible for up to a total $2,500 Education Award to pursue a Master in Community Development degree at the Carsey School of Public Policy.
  • Carsey/NeighborWorks Graduate Credit Award: Students that have earned a NeighborWorks Professional Certificate may be eligible to receive up to 6 graduate-level credits (2 courses) when enrolled in the Master in Community Development program at the Carsey School of Public Policy.

Students may also qualify for additional NeighborWorks course tuition discounts from NeighborWorks when enrolled in their NTI programs, eLearning, and eClassroom Express Classes. NeighborWorks employees are also eligible to receive tuition reimbursement from NeighborWorks America for courses taken in the Master in Community Development program.

Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who enroll via the Coverdell Fellows program are eligible to receive an $8,000 education award. This represents about 30% of total tuition costs to pursue a master’s degree at the Carsey School of Public Policy in: Community Development, Public Administration, or Public Policy.

College For Social Innovation (CFSI) students who have successfully completed the Semester in the City program are eligible to receive a $5,000 Education Award to pursue a master’s degree at the Carsey School of Public Policy in: Community Development (MCD), Public Administration (MPA), or Public Policy (MPP).  Additionally, any student who has completed the Semester in the City program and is pursuing the MPP program is eligible to have their internship requirement waived.

UNH undergraduates enrolled in the MPA or MPP Accelerated Master’s program who have completed their CFSI Semester in the City program are also eligible for this Education Award.
